Case Study: Local Digital Media Eco-system Keynote++

Blue version logo transChallenge – Research and capture the last twenty five years of local online media and reflect that collaboration in a multi-media keynote address he would use at the Search and Information Industry Association (SIINDA) Conference in Budapest, Hungary in May of 2014.

Solution – After evaluating the use of both Power Point and Prezi, we determined that the safest approach to delivering a multi-media presentation was to use Power Point. We planned to have the entire presentation resident on the hard-drive of the Client’s computer with backup copies in DropBox, SlideShare and YouTube.

Overview – The Client was using this speaking opportunity as a launching pad for his consulting business and the beginning of his research for a book that positions him as a subject matter expert in search and local online media. The goal was to introduce Doug’s perspective on how local online media has evolved and where it is headed.

Deliverables:

    1. A multi-media presentation that met the expectations of SIINDA Conference organizers and achieved the client’s goals of establishing his subject matter expertise.
    2. Produce a video that aggregates actual footage from the early days of local online media.
    3. Establish high-value content that becomes the foundation for Doug’s digital footprint and an online community using relevant social media channels including LinkedIn, SlideShare, YouTube.
    4. Facilitated the development of a logo for the Client’s consulting business using 99Designs.

Results – Doug Meeker successfully delivered the keynote address in Budapest to 105 executives from the local search industry from twenty five countries. While pausing to work with several U.S. clients, Doug continues to gather information for the book he eventually will publish on this topic.

    Trish and her team did a superb job on this project. The presentation has garnered over 2300+ views on Slideshare. I’ve had numerous comments on how professional the presentation looked and flowed. The inclusion of video clips throughout was a big plus for keeping the audience engaged which is always a challenge at industry conferences where there can be multiple distractions.
